I wrote this poem during a time when I was reflecting on how heavy life can feel for so many of us. In a world that moves too fast and often piles on distractions, regrets, and emotional storms, it’s easy to lose focus and feel weighed down by yesterday’s sorrows or tomorrow’s worries.
The poem is offered as a simple, honest companion — not fancy or perfect, but real. These lines serve as a gentle reminder to slow down, release what we cannot control, embrace both the pinches and the small treasures in life, and choose presence and hope amid the mess. It’s meant to feel like a steady hand on the shoulder, encouraging us to savor today, drop the excuses, and take life one deliberate step at a time.
If you’re walking through a hard season, I hope these words land softly and act as a little mental medicine. You’re not alone, and there’s still time to enjoy the squeals of kids, the quiet beauties along the way, and the chance to move forward on that field of green.
Antidepressant…
If one could they surely would, live a life that’s full of good, not example samples, abundance of ample,in trampling on things that should’ve, could’ve, would’ve?
Yet too often reactions get caught by distractions, running afoul from choices somehow…And one’s good gets lost, in chuck and toss, when emotions’ commotions in hocus and pocus invites the atrocious, that caused the lost focus!
If one might see enslaved set free, from fire’s desires and things of aspires, renditions ambitions and made up conditions, that stumble and tumble in all of the fumbles…
Then we’d come to know while on the go, that our time had limits in reaching the finish…As we’re here today but gone tomorrow with sorrow’s petition from blinded ambitions that arrive at yesterday’s dismay!
Life shan’t provide us beside us a crutch to abide us, excuses, misuses for any abuses that might cause us to be losing our way!
Thus come to know and take life slow, avoiding perils from ice and snow, enjoy the squeals of kid’s found zeal,
and do your best to enjoy the rest!
For who begat regrets ‘bout all the frets, just forgets that kingdom come will net the sum, in measured weight as worthy!
For each second passed, ‘twere it meant to last, and each shall offer glimpse at past, yet can’t repeat reversing feet in taken steps, alas!
So take it slow in all to know, that life bestowed in treks through snow or slips and falls and kicks to balls,
are all just treasured measures!
In yardstick’s inches life’s full of pinches, and challenges to finding, the right size wrenches…But absent height to fall from grace we’d not have tools for exposing us fools, nor tape for winning race.
As here today, we hope and pray, to open eyes tomorrow, and grow a bit advancing wits from yesterday’s caused sorrows…
So invite what’s right and sprinkle spice of life on dreams so clean, ignoring world’s upheld of hell, dispelling spells unseen…
For days are numbered, no time to slumber or burden mind with weight’s encumbered, today you have a chance to grab, escaping mad or sad or bad!
The choice in voiced is yours, get on with doing chores, enjoy today, as yesterday was vision for tomorrow,
in making choice for glad or sad, doom or gloom, and imagining more sorrows!
One day shall come, as wide end run, upon a field of green, and crowds will roar if we had scored example that was ample.
