The Individual

Each of us possess a disposition of character and in this outward apparel of the soul, we choose individually to tailor these garments to our personalities.

Some will wear silk garments as if they were the vestments of a distinctive chorister in society, attempting to define the balance with tone being sung from the octaves and notes in their life’s song.

Others may choose to be casual dressers, clothed in unassuming and modestly tailored drapery upon the soul’s nakedness.

In doing so, some may cloak the linage of their spiritual dynasty in unassuming statements but, the inflection of spoken tones and the paradigm in their syntactic roles reveals what lay hidden.

As the grand Designer of the universe intended, we are all part of the formula that adds up to the numeric equivalence of the world. Although we number in the billions, we are all unique individuals!

The Shape of an Individual

However, just as in an algebraic formula that illustrates a geometric relationship for the Golden Ratio, the balance from two quantities are also known as divine proportions.

So…the fingerprint of God on this design isn’t just happenstance.

The Golden Ratio has fascinated Western intellectuals of diverse interests for at least 2,400 years.

Physicist have spent endless hours over this simple ratio and its properties. But the fascination with the Golden Ratio is not confined just to mathematicians.

Biologists, artists, musicians, historians, architects, psychologists, and even mystics have pondered and debated the basis of its ubiquity and appeal.

In fact, it is probably fair to say that the Golden Ratio has inspired thinkers of all disciplines like no other number in the history of mathematics!

The Geometry of Savants…

In mathematics, the “Golden Ratio” exist if a + b ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities.

As in a geometric relationship in the golden rectangle, in which the ratio of the longer side to the shorter is the golden ratio

As our many experiences in life can shape our souls, the uniqueness of our individuality takes form from what we and others may view as our singularity in angularity.

As the phrase goes, “whats your angle”?

What becomes our angle or statements in the responding peculiarity of our individuality is also a ratio of proportions.

Just as the Golden Ratio’s is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities, so too does proportional balance exist in the divine proportioning of our personalities.

Our nature can sometimes borderline exhibits of what is extreme and be termed “schizophrenic”, due to the sharp angles of our idiosyncrasies.

In appearance these may seem out of balance as obsessive compulsive behaviors, yet still in some cases recognized as contributing and therefore tolerated by those around us.

Although schizophrenia is a long-term mental disorder, which usually involves a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, mild conditions can be seen as just a quirky personality.

Medicated solutions generally only become necessary when an individual exhibits behaviors that are incompatible with societal norms.

Such conditions may lead to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion and a sense of mental fragmentation.

In providing the aforementioned descriptions of this condition is is easy to see how many people might be called functioning schizophrenics in the exhibitions of their daily lives and anomalies being expressed in their personalities.

Although a true diagnosis of schizophrenic behavior generally requires medication, as it is considered a severe brain disorder, in which people interpret reality abnormally and can pose a risk to themselves and others.

In suggesting that such a thing as borderline schizophrenic may be going undiagnosed in our society, it draws attention to some who deviate from what is standard, normal, or expected.

There are a number of descriptions that can be attached to the exhibits of such personality oddities i.e.;

  • Peculiarity
  • Abnormality
  • Irregularity
  • Inconsistency
  • Incongruity
  • Aberration
  • Quirky
  • Rarity

From these descriptions a verdict can be rendered, as to how those who commingle with our daily activities can be classified.

In what may be deemed extreme cases even a clinically diagnosed determination can be imposed for the displays of abnormal growth and development in some individual characters.

Defining the Individual

Part of defining what is an individual can also be comparatively explained much like the description of one link being part of an entire chain.

As a human being we are one of many chain-links individually but, each contributes and commingles in order to become a cohesive unit, which becomes a unitized part of society as the whole.

So the term individual is often invalidated in our modern society as being part of the whole of society rather than the substance that makes up the uniqueness of each individual.

As an example, a fireman or firemen…? A standalone fireman doesn’t go to a fire as an individual nor would his or her individual chain link’s importance be as valid outside the command structure of the entire fire fighting unit.

In attaching greater meaning to the merits of the unit, it symbolizes that their is less significance as an individual contributor (in this example) to the overall outcome and shifts more weight to the decisions being made as a team effort.

It’s interesting that team decisions most often play out to be more effective decisions yet, each contribution is of course an individual?

Quite possibly this is where the “Golden Ratio” exist in the exchanging of personalities; if a + b ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities?

So…more often the strength of the combined chain links culminate into something greater than the singularity of one individual, yet truly nothing is added to the values in the equation.

The State of being indivisible

It is from our total character and the peculiarities of our unique personality that we are distinguishable as an individual from others. Yet it is also from these same differences that one may be invalidated as being worthy to make contributions.

As we all know, there are team players and there are others who standalone.

Often those who don’t fit into a societal spirited team mentality are ostracize as not fitting into the socialistic norms and they become outsiders.

These out of The Box thinkers, when rising to the occasion can also exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit.

These individuals may use their singularity in viewing the world to propel their agendas rather than becoming dependent upon others to authenticate their individuality.

These are the traits of some natural born leaders and when centered and focused upon their vision these types of individuals (generally speaking), will not become part of a team but, will position themselves as dictatorial coaches of a team and work toward team goals.

Some eccentric individuals (Albert Einstein) may even become separated from a team because of their distinct uniqueness.

Their individual existence may be recognized for the singular application of their savant,…to that of the common goals of the team’s consensus but, they can also be incompatible with what the team sees as hospitable.

One reason for this can be that the quirkiness of their personality disables the bonding cohesion of the team’s unity, therefore causing expulsion from that “school of thought”.

This is rare, as in most cases they go unrecognized as introverts, unless their savant pertains to something as critical as ending WW II.

The Rights of Individuality

Everyone has a right to their individuality in America, as long as it doesn’t impose a problem for others.

In the expression of the quality of one’s character a particular person distinguishes themselves from others by the differences being portrayed./h4>

These can be striking differences especially when strongly marked with a uniqueness that runs outside The Box.

The Face of the Individual

Uniqueness can have many faces. It can be the way in which an actor express an impersonated character. It can be the way a person implies their interpretations of the hues and tones in colors on a painting. It can also be someone abstaining from any of this…

As an example, we recognize many different styles of acting. Some can seem quite strange yet these forms are accepted as individual expressions of their craft almost without exception!

Sculptors and Painters again, can experience the same deferential in the broader spectrum for the applications of their unique individuality, and appear quite strange to societies critiquing eye yet, they can still be seen and accepted as artist.

So…needless to say (but, I’m saying it anyways), our individuality has boundaries even as wide as those boundaries make room for in the expressions of the arts.

Some individuals may not always find a place to fit within these boundaries and be left to the quick witted determinations of subjective reasoning.

There are limitations and there isn’t room for acceptability for borderless eccentrics, distinctly unique and extremely quirky personalities that may cross the territorial boundary line without a passport.

Because, we all still yearn deep within our individual psyche (The Heart of the Soul) to become attached as a link in the chain to the commonality of humanness, it is virtually impossible for us individually to abstain from the innate primordial desires to be part of something bigger than ourselves!

In order to be accepted as part of the chain, we must conform to a translatable language, even in a multilingual society.

In becoming an individual that can engage wider communication in that of the unspoken forbearance of language, an individual bestows the gift of tolerationism.

In developing a broader spectrum of acceptance and toleration of others, one’s journey can provide resounding echos that extinguish the anticipation of apprehension.

What could be viewed differently if one might have been initially interpreted as a purposefully quirky personality, verses one who’s origins of that quirkiness had originated from one suffering adversity or misfortune?

In the extinguishing of our own suspicions or fears of future trouble or evil, we can choose to see and hear another form of reality, possible one beyond the eyes of self!

Take that extra moment today and peer deep into the eyes of someone whom you have failed to connect the chain with…

There can be quite a conversation just waiting for discovery, silently viewing the world from behind a Spoken Face
